The 2024 BLI-XIV will focus on the holistic design of energy storage and conversion beyond lithium ion to achieve a sustainable future. We will have sessions focusing on (i) cutting-edge advances in solid-state lithium battery research, (ii) the development of lithium-free, (iii) multivalent battery systems, (iv) AI and ML methods for discovery, (v) battery recycling, and (vi) using electrochemistry to form new chemical bonds for carbon capture and utilization. At the end of each session, the chairs will assemble a panel discussion comprised of the session speakers to address lingering bottlenecks in innovation and manufacturing and how we tackle these challenges sustainably.
